Bjarne Kvinnsland is trained in musicology, music technology and electronic art. He works extensively in collaborative projects experimenting with the artistic use of new technology. As a composer he concentrates on electronic music based on the sampling of natural sounds. Lately, though, he seems to have discovered the human voice. Amplifying micro-sounds, he searches for sound and rhythms to isolate and refine in a digital environment. He is also fascinated with the historical evolution of culture sounds.
Kvinnsland has collaborated with groups such as Dance Design on big outdoor productions and teaches music technology at the University of Oslo and the Barratt Due Institute of Music. At the time being Kvinnsland is a member of the artist group Intravision, where he works with art installation, light and sound.
