SPUNK

Live in Molde

3DB021 • 2014

SPUNK and Joëlle Léandre is a match made for history. Based on their first joint appearance at Belleville, Oslo, in 2008, Molde Jazz Festival suggested that these players join forces again, a situation that warranted documentation. Léandre is one of the earliest prominent voices with a combined practice as performer, improviser and composer. She has been a long standing inspiration for SPUNKs work spanning the last 20 years.

- SPUNK is rare. As a group, they have a unique strength in the fact that all members move freely between roles as performers, improvisers and
composers. SPUNK's music is poetic, responsible and free at the same time, writes Joëlle Léandre, and captures the essence of this album.

Recorded live at Moldejazz July 20 2011 by Thomas Hukkelberg. Mixed by Thomas Hukkelberg, mastered by Jeff Carey. SPUNK is supported by Arts Council Norway.

Produced by Bjørnar Habbestad, mixed by Ingar Hunsgaard, mastered by Jeff Carey.
